A few rules for a smooth running swap...

Make sure your label on your package is secure. Last year, in early November with temps about freezing, I had one package arrive with the label nearly pealed off.

Make sure the package is taped well, if recycling a bubble mailer. Narrow transparent tape is junk. Packaging tape (~2" wide) works. I only use heavy duty clear tape.

No staples, paper clips, etc... inside. While they hold 10 packs together neatly, they can tear open other packs. Rubber bands are OK.

NO TAPING PACKS TOGETHER (or taping things to the inner walls of the bubble mailer...yes this stuff happens). It's a lot of work for you, and a lot of work for me to then un-tape things.

A wish list and send-in list both IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER, with a legible return address, any other contact info (your Tomatoville user name, or email address), and return postage (cash/stamps).

Those also participating in the bean swap (no rules yet) will receive one package likely in early January. It'll likely be with the small flat rate boxes like last year. There will be a limited amount of beans for those only in the tomato/pepper swap.

More later...

Also, the number of your wish list varieties can be as follows...

10 wish list varieties - if you're participating in many categories and expecting* about 100 varieties back.

*the average for the past few swaps, but unknown what this year will be

20 wish list varieties - if you're participating in a few categories and expecting about 40-60 varieties back.

30 wish list varieties - maybe one category (or none) and expecting up to 40 varieties back.

I have many hundreds, but they go fast. You're first on the list of requests. I'm wondering if more will make it into the bean swap, if they are needed.

Thank you ! I'm the lady who mailed you $5 and a thank you card last year. I moved and never got to plant the flamingos you sent, and lost the seeds too. Argh !

I joined this swap in 2013 through GW and it was by far my favourite! I would love to join again this year.

I was hoping that you would offer them again. I regretted not asking last year. Pretty please count me in.

I had so hoped to be able to be a part of this. I only had ox heart tomato seeds (that have been handed down for years and years), but an accident with a silly dog left me with only about 6 seeds. If they produce for me I will be ready next year

The post came too late for me, I used paper clips on the categoty seeds, I really hope they didn't cause any damage to baggies. Next year, if here is a swap again......

Return postage (cash or stamps) is 2.32 (I think for the 1st 3 ounces). Donations (not necessary) of $1 can be made for ~15 SunGold seeds.

If people think they would like a pack or two of beans, the weight will likely go over 3 ounces. I'll have to look up those rates.

Those that are participating in both the tomato/pepper & beans/other legumes swaps will likely be using small flat rate boxes, which again I'll have to check for new rates.
