I had a chance to buy a 9 acre island about 15 years ago... Skull Island close to Hamburg Illinois... $35,000. I passed, do to the person I was with objected to it. It's worth a small fortune now with a big sand beach a cabin and numerous duck blinds that are leased for big bucks.

Another reason that accidents almost always equal getting a check is the high cost of legal representation. Insurance companies know that they are better off paying out smaller claims without question, because as soon as they go to trial, they will quickly spend more on lawyers than it would have taken to settle the case.
There needs to be Darwin Award Tort Law... if you have been awarded a Darwin Award
You or your family should never be able to profit from it...

This brings up a sad subject that happened here this weekend... a SUV (side by side four wheeler) wreck.. driver was 12 yo, 1 adult (44 yo) was holding a 4 yo in the front seat... two other 8 yo's were riding in the dump bed. 12 yo died an 8 yo is in critical.

Who is to blame? Driver? SUV owner? Land Owner? Adult riding on SUV, letting this all happen? How many Darwins should be awarded here?

The person with the most insurance will be the ones the ambulance chasing lawyers go after first!

The person with the most insurance

That would be the company that manufactured the side-by-side. I've never seen anyone without a helmet on while operating one...in a tv commercial. In real life, I have never seen anyone with a helmet.

Since we're dreaming - A clothing optional island where there is a fountain of youth, and money has no meaning. There's no sickness or worries.

There used to be some people that lived up the street.
They had a big 4 wheeler.
They let the wee ones scream up and down the street in it no helmet or anything going as fast as it could go.
I almost called the police on them but didn't.
The idea of letting kids do this with no helmet really ticked me off to no end.
When I say kids I mean like 10 years old at the most.

That bunch always had some sort of loud motor something or other going on all the time.
It is my only complaint of anyone that has lived here all this time.
I am so glad they left.

Grownups that ride this stuff without helmets have children that grow up to ride without helmets.
My father bought me a motor bike and a helmet when I was in grade school.
I wear a helmet.

You plant potatoes... you get potatoes...

Illinois has a strong motorcycle lobbyist group called ABATE that lobby's against motorcycle helmets... you're required to wear a seatbelt in a car, but no helmet on a motorcycle.

And it's the same in Illinois for children on a motorcycle. Small kids in cars now have to be buckled down like an astronaut, and it's child neglect to not do that. But your little one can ride on the back of a motorcycle in a swimsuit and sandals, and certainly no helmet.

Are you sure about that in Texas a miner under 21 has to have a helmet passenger or not.
In some towns like Austin anyone under 18 has to have one on a bicycle.
