After a whole day of clouds and drizzling rain yesterday (reminding me of PNW), last night got down to 53F. At this moment ( 7 am )it is 56F.
On the positive note, some more of my broccoli have a chance to enjoy the cool and grow floret / head. Lettuce of all varieties are gone or some ( that I like ) are bolting to produce seeds for my fall planting.
Today's outlook: Sunny, high in mid 80s. Winds coming from SW @ 5 mph. That suits me fine.

The major part of this storm is off east/south east now, going towards the metroplex. We did get a fair bit of water from it, so that was good. The skeeters will be hungry.

last 10 days as good as it gets here this time of the yr for humans....maybe ten degrees cool for max tomato growth but all my big pinks and yello/red have set fruit on the bottom cluster. Yahoooo!

We have our first dry stretch in a while coming up. Unfortunately it's bringing the heat with it -- high 80s/low 90s.

But I'll look on the bright side -- the dry weather is coming at the perfect time for my garlic--it's just about at the point where I'm supposed to stop watering it.

We are finally in a drying out stretch after all of the flooding last month. Highs upper 80's and lows upper 50's. And the local lakes and rivers are perfect for some morning fishing. No complaints.

Yow, Salt! That's a lot of water...

We are having our first day above "room temperature".. 22 C or 72 F!

That is a hot summer day for us, hoping it's not the only one and yet making the most of it, enjoy it um.. just in case.

I spent the morning and midday at the farm, harvested rhubarb and planted some veggies. Still very dry, and the blackflies were awful this morning but thankfully the wind picked up. We're expecting rain tonight into tomorrow... I hope! Our guys say 5-10 mm overnight, we could use that and more.
Still a huge iceberg down in the cove as we drove by, and a couple of growlers near the shore - the seagulls were perched on the growlers.

What a way to cool off.

BTW my tomatoes are setting happily in the greenhouse. I'm very stoked to see fruit growing on them only a few days after transplanting them so late.

looks more like swimming than growing conditions. it has gone from record rain to nothing for more than 2 weeks...yuk- hate dragging hoses

Salt, how much rain did you get? I hope your garden is ok.

I just came in from feeding and watering my few containers. I did the raised bed yesterday. Care for my 4 container plants is more time consuming than the 18 in soil. Weather has been beautiful but dry. Sunny, little gusty breeze in the upper 80's and moderate humidity.

yeah, i have 20 containers and 60+ in the ground and no rain for 2 weeks here in central IN ( there is a reason why they call it Brownsburg!), so......too much time in dragging hoses, have to find time to hook up some container drip lines and sure hope we get some substantial rain soon - like i said since i moved here 4 yrs. ago you need a pick axe to plant a petunia so that is what i bought at a garage sale 3 yrs ago and still use it faithfully today

another 90 f day. and humid. so thankful for air conditioning and the plants are loving it. the hightunnel is 100 right now. I turn the irrigation on over night every night when it is this hot.
