An interesting F2 from my True North True Blue lines.
I was told (again) all anthos taste bitter yesterday. They don’t actually ALL taste bad. Just All the bad ones taste bad. I will say that all of the antho tomatoes Ive tried that do taste good were created by amateur breeders. That’s interesting I think. Anyway, these taste pretty good KarenO |

Interesting color combination on those, Karen! I bet you will come up with some tasty anthos, if anyone can.
So far, I have not grown any anthos that wow me with flavor, but have grown a few that were more than acceptable, certainly not bitter. In fact, one pink/black variety had an essence of pink bubblegum flavor, which I don't particularly care for in a tomato. Always fun to see what new stuff is coming down the pike.

The colourful potato leaf paste selections at F5 were a highlight at the farm growout this season.

Those are some pointy little devils, aren't they! PL elongated pastes should be good, all that come to mind are wispy leafed ones so far. Nice work!

I wish I did not suffer from Dyslexia. When I get excited I suffer setbacks in Grammar, I am proud Farmer, Amen!!
That new Virginia Female Farmer I met last week lost all Tomatoes and Crops this Year because of the High Temperatures. Today I am sending her a Letter with "Native American Farming Secrets" along with the Good News about My Santorini Heirloom Tomatoes and my Costoluto Genovese Tomatoes grown here on my Farm are the Only Heirloom Tomatoes to Survive Fully in "direct Sun with Temps in the 100''s" without shade. Yes, my Native 7-8 foot tall Heirloom Corn Stocks helped the other Heirloom Tomatoes with the needed shade to survive Slowly. But the Santorini Heirloom & Costoluto Genovese survived and still producing heavily.

That’s great about your Santorini and costoluto tomatoes doing great in heat. It likely stands to reason since they likely are acclimated in a Mediterranean climate?
You should make a separate post about them and maybe add some photos if you can. |

I will because if I were a commercial farmer, I would Grow both the Costoluto and the Santorini for their Heaty Veins, Taste, and ability to withstand Hot Temperatures being a Guaranteed Crop of Heirloom Tomatoes, Amen!

Some of the micros are setting fruit in the greenhouse. It’s been an interesting year. Looking forward to some great things in 2024 Happy Canadian Thanksgiving from me to you

They are interesting like Green Zebra Tomatoes, Amen!!
I was thinking about digging up my Italian Heirloom Tomatoes, Black From Tula, & Indian Zebra tomato plants out of the Ground; to grow them in my Geer house. They are healthy but didn't produce much after surviving the Heated Months. Do you think it is a Good Ideal to produce more tomatoes before the First Frost here in Virginia?

I pulled the Itaiiam Heirloom Plants out of the Ground " and Placed them in a 5-gallon bucket. These plants produce Big Tomatoes like a Big Pear with the Plants only growing up to 6-7 feet. I am getting them ready for the Green House,
Do you have the name of a Good Organic Fertilizer, I need to use it on the damaged Crop.
