Fred, I was just looking at your Facebook page, along with the pictures posted here. That's some great work you've been doing.

Also, I found the Kickstarter you had for Medera.. Dang, I'm sad I missed that. Madera looks like a really great variety. How soon do you anticipate those seed might become available? .. or is there another way I can get in on it?

I thought we would have Madera available now, but the Madera seed we harvested is just enough to fulfill Kickstarter orders. So Madera won't be generally available until next fall.

But, we do have enough seed for our two other new varieties available (Green Bee and Bellota) and I put those on our website just in the last couple days.

This year I grow Blush, I have germinated plants.

Blush not only tasting great, but it was the most vigorous in my garden last year, even better than Sungold F1 for vigour, surviving late fall molds in my greenhouse. I loved it so much, I actually overwintered 1 plant, now have several suckers from it planted. I grew it every year, but it really shined last fall.
I can’t believe I lost my beloved Green Tiger seeds to mice. Have to look for seeds next year. I will grow more Blush this year then.

I looked for this, but didn't find anything... how is Blush 2.0 different than original Blush (which I have)?

Blush 2.0 was derived from a Lucky Tiger X unreleased Green Zebra Cherry type cross.

So although it looks alot like Blush, it is a different variety. Since Blush was used to make Lucky Tiger, Blush is Blush 2.0's grandparent.

Differences are that Blush 2.0 is usually a bit more marbled (although that is not evident in the photos I posted). It is also a bit firmer and less prone to cracking.

The flavor is similar, but distinctly different.

Yes. Silvery Fir Tree one parent in original cross that Spike came from.

I really liked blush, pretty tomato with a refreshing taste, as the season went on they all splitted on me. I’m trying 1 plant again this year to see if I get splitting. I remember it being a very productive variety.
