I just looked at their page on Espoma Cotton Seed Meal, and it says:

Does that dissolve easily?

As far as I know, none of these Espoma *-tone fertilizers are intended
for foliar feeding or soil drenches. Instead, they are mixed into the
soil, side-dressed, etc. For seedlings, one can use a pinch in a 3" pot
when potting up sprouted seedlings without overdoing it. Bio-tone is
specifically intended for growing seedlings, transplanting trees or shrubs
or perennials into a landscape, etc.

If you soak a couple of tablespoons of these fertilizers in water, it will
dissolve some little bit of the nutrients that is already water-soluble, and
you could spray with that if you filter it before putting it in the sprayer
(coffee filter, piece of old cotton t-shirt in the top of a funnel, something
like that). Most of the fertilizer is not going to dissolve, though. It needs
bacteria and fungi in the soil and weathering for the nutrients in it
to become available to plants.

Got my order today, 3 bags of Tomato-tone, some diatomaceous earth and green sand. All arrived in decent shape, about 110 lbs in all.

I'll probably order again while the crazy cheap shipping lasts. No way they can keep this up for very long, but I'm lovin' it for now!

Espoma Biotone Starter comes in liquid form too.

Perhaps that is what the poster who suggested spraying seedlings
with it was thinking of, rather than the granular stuff referred to
by the URL at espoma.com that I posted.

Either way, it is a decent starter fertilizer for seedlings as long as you
do not use too much. 1% less nitrogen than Plant-tone and less potassium
than Tomato-tone, but I have used fertilizers close to that for the whole
season where I was adding other sources of potassium anyway
(compost, molasses, sul-po-mag, wood ash, etc).

Placed my order for Tomato Tone on 3/8 and received email that it shipped 3/13 from Pittston, PA to Fairfax, VA so I'll have it either tomorrow or Thursday. Thanks again for the heads up on this great deal!!! I'd spend almost $3 in gas driving to the garden shop in Fairfax so it is nice to know that for $4.95 they'll ship it to your door. Received the 2 20lb bags Wed.

Can I use this for peppers, too? I know it doesn't say "Nightshade Tone" on the bag, but I assume.....? Or is it limited to the Solanaceae and doesn't cross into the Capsicum?

Sure can use for peppers, also for eggplant too. I have used it on both, as well as tomatoes.
