Pretty little heart has set on a midnight sun PL F3. Now if it still a bicoulour I will call this one a success.
61 days from seeding on March 26. All of the plants are out in the great outdoors in their final places ex ept for one of each I will grow in the greenhouse as insurance against some catastrophe with the outdoor ones. Pretty pleased so far with the "children". all are blooming. KarenO |

Karen, I have just read this thread with great interest and admiration for your planning and execution of this project. Your process of growing big vigorous, even blooming transplants is in total agreement with my methods (but your set up looks a lot neater and more organized than mine!) to allow us Northerners to grow the mid and late season varieties, at least in a good year. Wish my back was 20 years younger and that I had more space - I have learned so much on Tomatoville, especially by posters such as yourself and would love to do a project such as yours. Kudos! Hope your beginner's luck continues and they stabilize quickly.
By the way, "your" Margaret Curtain and Zena's Gift were sturdy and lovely seedlings and the stocky plants are finally in the ground. I look forward to enjoying them in a couple of months.

Thank you Wlla, I am so looking forward to sending out some stable seed to you guys! I will be interested in what you think of the Zena's gift and I am loving the plants I got from all those dwarf varieties you sent to me!. Wherowikai (sp)? has set fruit for me already! I have a little "forest" of dwarf plants in pots growing in the backyard and they are such pretty plants, can't wait to taste them too.
Happy growing Karen Quote:

oh "mein gott" this is an awesome discussion .......I can now consider for next year
some of these notions / methods ...... and expand the regular varieties available to even late Season ...ah ha . As I have been a seedling to outdoor grower only ..... the Big starters from the green house etc.

Plants are big and doing well so far. As they set fruit I'm happy to see the same shapes as last year. A pointed heart on midnight sun, a smooth rounded blunt heart on Polaris and a ridged rounded heart on tundra. June 13
