Not to cause any trouble... but my GF just uses ziploc baggies sealed to the point of a straw entry. She sucks the air out while extracting the straw and finishing the seal.
If my seal-a-meal "hack" ever breaks - time for a new GF !!! |

You have an organic carbon based vacuum sealer.

I do the ziplock "straw seal" too. LOL! But it really works. I've been thinking this sealer thing over and just might ditch the idea since wrapping meats in plastic and then in foil has resulted in just about zero freezer burn over the years.
Thoughts are now turning to more rolls of soaker hose..... |

The good sealer is for the long haul like even over a year according to him. Mind you guys the sealer I will use for dried sausage and such not so much for the freezer. |

How about saving seed long term? Is vacuum sealing the way to go for that? Specifically I am thinking sweet corn at the moment, because last week I ordered a variety recommended here on tomatoville and ended up getting 2 lb for a little more than a I paid for 1k seed from my last johnny's order. Probably 5 years worth of seed between a few gardens.

The free vacuum sealer is a seal a meal nothing fancy but as I said free, free is good.
As for the seeds in a sealed package I was hoping for a reply too. |
