Sorry for the confusion. I checked with my source in San Jose and indeed he did send me the seed that he got from his grandmother in Montenegro. He named it after the region, Durmitor and I carelessly renamed it Baba's after his grandmother. That is why I did not recognize the name at first when you inquired. So the best would be stick with the original name Durmitor.

My Fiaschetto was the best tasting of the three. The Ciliega was grown in a container and did not taste very good. The Durmtorske was average. Jasmin cherry, from Serbia, which I think I also sent you turned out to have great production of small cherries but is one of the best tasting. Very sweet and intense. Not that I know of.

Alex got some of his seeds in Canada, I forgot from where, he can explain that, but I do have seeds from him for Jasmin, noted in my data book as a red cherry from Serbia, and will probably be having it grown next season to offer in my seed offer here, good growth and good seed production allowing.

Alex and I have been exchanging seeds for quite a few years now and if he had lots of seed I'm sure he would have offered them in the Seed Exchange Forum/

He sent me seed for 9 varieties in the Spring, about half were CV's ( commercial varieties) and what I was most interested in were the Serbian varieties.

Why is Alex my good friend? Well, several years ago I was sent 15 packs of seed by someone who was stationed in the former USSR and I needed help in translating the names, all in Russian, so I asked for help and here's that link which might amuse some of you as it did me:

I said I wanted to learn Russian and it was Alex who sent me a Russian textbook. But then I also wanted to relearn the Latin I once knew quite well, and in the end didn't spend much time with either endeavor, at least to date.
