Hi Marina,
Glad they arrived to you. I know it is late in your Season, but you might want to start one or two seeds to see what you can get before the frost hits in the Fall. Raybo |

Thanks to everyone for posting their leaf type results from 2012 the Croat. Brandy. seed sprouts. Seems like several growers got around about a one in four (roughly) PL : RL ratio, and we know what that could indicate.
I planted 1 potato leaf and two regular leaf plants so far, and will initiate another thread in a couple of months to ask regarding plant health and fruit set on y'all's CB plants. |

And no germination at all of the 3 seeds I sent him. He's darn good with seed germination, and Ray, these were seeds I sent him that you sent me this past Spring. Shoe in NC is down for seed production for this one and I haven't seen his germination data yet. So if Craig doesn't get anything up, in terms of a plant for me, And I can only have one, then I guess I'll ask him to send up an RL. But if Shoe gets them up I'd bertter e-mail him ASAP and tell him that if sees both PL and RL, to plant a couple of each if he can, b'c he has the room. Is there consensus here as to WHICH, the PL or the RL, is correct for this variety? Yes, I've been reading this thread but I'm not in the mood right now to go back and reread the whole thread.

Carolyn,
According to the Santa Clara Master Gardeners Organization where I purchased them last April, it is a RL Pink Brandywine type plant. But you may recall that when I got home and examined the 7 plants I purchased, 6 were RL and one was a PL plant. I ONLY saved / mailed out seed from tomatoes off the 4 RL plants grown in an isolated area of my yard. Raybo Last edited by rnewste; April 20, 2012 at 04:30 PM. |

2 of 2 seeds of BFC have germinated, both are RL and the seedlings are looking very good and healthy. Thank you, Ray, for this opportunity

Here is a shot of my BFC. Seems to be doing well so far here in the mid-atlantic.

3/8 of my BFC germinated and growing healthily, all RL. I noticed this evening after reading this thread that a 4th seed has germinated late - I can't tell yet what the leaf type is. If it is PL, I will come back and update.

I am also growing out the one Brandywine from Croatia PL that germinated in my seed tray. Here is a shot of that one. I am excited to see what difference in flavor the two plants have if any?

I planted 4 seeds. All germinated. All four are regular leaf plants. Now I too wish that I had just 1 PL.
Thank you once again for the seeds. This is fun to watch!

Ray, I didn't know if my plant would make it but I just noticed first sign of blushing. I will post a pic as soon as it's fully ripe.
