Everything sure is late this year. I have picked a couple tomatoes, but mostly just have a ton of green ones.

Glad you found your answer, Andrea, but I've got a question about the epidermis of your Fish Lake Oxhearts...clear or yellow? In the picture it looks yellow. If it is, and therefore you are growing a true Fish Lake Oxheart, may I ask the source of your seed/plant?

Um, not sure. I can check once I get home from work. What is the easiest way to tell?

Okay, I had my husband look at it. He says that it does appear to be a yellowish orangy color (to him). I got the seeds from a member on here.

Peel off a piece of skin and scrape off all the flesh you can and hold it up to the light. If you have a known pink (clear skin) variety, do the same thing and compare the two. Sometimes a fruit can appear to be orangey or yellowish when it actually has a clear epidermis.

The reason I'm asking about it is that I've gotten seeds from several sources here and all have had clear skin, so I'm STILL searching for the real Fish Lake Oxheart.

I'm more than happy to share. I think I have about 12 seeds left.
