I'm growing mostly pastes and sauce tomatoes this year, and will be growing some OP cherry tomatoes. I would like to grow more, but room is a problem.
I still have not decided what pastes. I was thinking a mixture of OP and hybrids.
Since all are red, the cherries will be other colors. i was thinking Purple Bumblebee, Snow White. and Blue Gold Berries.
I checked only Tania's site and she doesn't mention the Pl version. But did not Google it

I distributed seeds for the PL version for several years in my annual seed offer here.

I think it would be best to post in the seed wanted subforum since I know that many hear requested those seeds.

it's always best when looking for a variety to post in that subforum where everyone would see it rather than a request being buried within a thread.

If no one responds, which I doubt, I'm pretty sure I do have some older seeds here at home.

So I'll look for your post in the wanted Forum and if anyone offers you seed from here, please let me know.

Thanks, and I hope the above helps,

Carolyn

I have some hybrids I'll grow next year. I would rather not have to keep buying seeds. But some are for sure worth it!
I want to try Nector hybrid cherry. that one has a higher brix than Sungold.

I am a big fan of black tomatoes, my fave this year were Cherokee Chocolate, Sara Black, JD's special C-tex, Vorlon, Berkeley Tie-Dye Heart, and Bl. Cherry.

Pinks are emerging slowly. I tried many varieties. The taste varies, production is on the low because most are late varieties, for me. Eva Purple Ball was super productive but the taste was not outstanding just good. Purple Dog Creek in 2013 was loaded, in 2014 gave 2 tomatoes. Many pinks just not as good as black tomatoes. My new fave is Grandfather Ashlock. It is pretty early and taste is in the top, enough to compare with black tomatoes.

In yellow category I may grow Claude Brown’s Y. Giant. Below is it production in ounces:
34, 29.5, 11.9, 11.1, 9.4, 11.8, 11.9, 8.5, 5.5, 2.4 = 136.0
Sweet Sue was really good tasting dwarf variety
Grew few years ago Azoychka and Taxi. Did like them. Early.
Thanks Ella, may have to give Peg's Round Orange a try!

The pics look amazing and for just under 4 bucks a pack of 30 seeds they seem to be a great deal for and F1 seed. Im also excited to grow out some F2, F3, and F4 varieties i am working on of my own varieties and others. So what is it that you just cant wait for?
I am trying to grow a Rapunzel now (bought it from a greenhouse was maybe inches tall). It is actually the first Tomato plant I have ever tried to grow so I hope I dont muck it up too badly. Its not growing as fast as i would like, but I dont know how fast these are supposed to grow anyways

New to me varieties that seem to be doing great are Giant Red Pear (huge ruffled), Dr. Lyle, Great White, and Yellow Radiance. On a side note, wouldn't it be neat if there were threads for each variety of tomato? Then if I searched for Dr. Lyle, for example, I could add my growing notes and pics (among hopefully hundreds of others) and it would help us all. Just a thought

Actually no, I don't think it would be a good idea to have a thread for each OP variety known since there are about 18 to 20 thousand known.

To pay for increased bandwidth Mischka would have to have a building constructed that could accomodate a server large enough and then no doubt to raise enough money for construction, start charging Membership fees.

An alternative? You could start you own blog as some do and report on that blog your experience with all the tomato varieties you grow each year. Please consider that.

Summary? Again, no, I don't think it's a good idea to have a thread for each OP, or even F1 hybrid, known.
