I think I already wrote this somewhere else, but deer LOVE sweet potato leaves. I planted some sweet potatoes outside of the fenced garden a couple years ago. One morning, deer ate every leaf on several big plants. It looked like a lawnmower set on the lowest cutting notches mowed them down.

Thanks for the offer but I am growing them as we speak.
I have two sets that are already taken root and more on the way.

Salt if a deer gets that close to my back door and eats my sweet potatoes it just got too close to my meat grinder and 22 magnum that is about 30 feet away.
I can promise you that.
That rifle sits right behind me.

The flag is right on top of the sewer line.
I'm going to set some post blocks and run 2X10 or 12's 8 feet long with 4x4 posts and fill it all in.
I need 4 8 foot 2X12's and one post block I already have 4 of them.
Heck I might have two more I will have to look.
And maybe 2 4X4 posts.

Worth, that is a big bed , 22' x 6 '. Is it going to be a shrubbery , flower garden or veggies ?
Are you going to put a retainer, to hod the soil in place .
Enjoy the work out !

I meant to say something a while back about the stumps. There was a mention of growing mushrooms on them. I think that mushrooms growing on them would look very interesting.
