ewww! so sorry to hear that for you. I had one in my greenhouse, too earlier like maybe early Jam. I was so disgusted. It was digging up my new seeded flats. I caught it and gave it to my neighbor for her snake.

Planted a dozen about a week ago in an egg carton in some worm castings. Mine may have cross pollinated with the ghost pepper it shared it's planter with. Either way, the strain is wonderful, it lived until the first week of November here.

Oh superhots...
My 10yo saw some youtube stars eat a carolina reaper (and burn themselves) and now she wants to try one herself. I told her she is nuts. But I let her lick a toothpick I stuck in some ghost pepper hotsauce. She didn't like it, but she still wants to try a CR.... (tweens are strange creatures). |

Thank you Charline for starting this thread!
Thank you Heirloomtomaguy for the seeds! I planted one row in a plug flat on February 28. 3 are starting true leaves, 1 almost done expelling its seed coat. Thanks again. Dutch

No worries Dutch. Anyone else with a desire for fire let me know. I have thousands of Carolina Reaper seeds

The ghost pepper is almost bitter to me. The Carolina reaper is much deeper in flavor, almost citrus-like. I wouldn't consider it any more piquant though
