I think it will be hard to manage down to 40 of the "Favorites" and 10 for exploration/trial of new varieties. That would be a commendable goal for next year.....

Now that's 50 varieties next year BEFORE lastminuteitis kicks in...

This year I'm growing all of the varieties that I have accumulated over the past several years for which no or very little info is available. I have 50 of them. It should be an interesting year! I'm hoping there are a few hidden gems in the group.

Wow, compared to some of youse guys, my list is tiny. I grow all mine in the ground, on 9 cages...6 varieties = 27 plants.

My every year staples are Early Girl, Big Beef, and Park's Whopper, 6 each.
I add 3 new varieties every year, 3 each.
This year's newcomers are Delicious, Chapman, and Chef's Choice Pink.

I'm thinking I might throw in a cherry variety or 2 in containers, maybe large red cherry and Snow White...

Well, "lastminuteitis" has struck again. I was privileged to get some Spanish hanging varieties and will be growing 5 of them out this year:

Colgar Alacon
Ramallet des Figueral
Ramallet Ibiza Blanca
Flor de Artana
Ramallet San Llorens

A generous Tomatovillian in Spain. I'm very excited about them and will be saving lots of seeds.

It will be interesting to see if you are able to keep to your routine after hanging around here...

Bah !

...I think I have a system for next year 2019 figured out to try and

control the amount of varieties. "A" list " Must grow every year ..about 20 varieties.

" B List " Rotate alternate or every three years ? to good to give up....about 20 Varieties per year .

and "C" list the 10 new exploration trial varieties to trial .

Total : 50 varieties Max. per year ..

While the above plan is a worthy "ideal " I think lastminuteitis may just

blow this noble moderation out of the water . LOL

.

That nice young man from Spain has been very generous to quite a few folks here. Glad he joined.

Starting seeds kinda sneaked up on me this year. Started peppers and broccoli. Tomatoes probably in the next few days. Here is my tentative list

1-Earl's Faux x 2
2-Eva Purple Ball x 2
3-Cherokee Green x 1
4-Arkansas Traveler x 1
5-Dester x 1
6-Margaret Curtin x 1
7-Danko x 1
8-Cherokee Purple x 1
9-Indian Zebra x 2
10-Happy x 2

11-Heartbreaker
12-Soviet
13-Rebel Yell
14-GGWT
15-Amana Orange
16-Rutgers

The first 10 are pretty solid which is 14 plants. Will grow 18 so the other 4 will come from 11 through 15 with Rutgers being seeded for others who don't like black and green tomatoes. Happy is a Romanian variety productive slicer from Martin Longseth

Heart Breaker and Soviet are commercial Russian varieties from Olga in Moscow
