What a beauty. Alas I was never able to germinate those seeds adequately. And the lone plant I got suffered a fatal canine mauling. Argh! One of these days I will taste you, elusive Negrillo de Almoguera.

Gerardo,
I'm not surprised that most of your seeds do not germinate. I put the bag the entire first inflorescence. When I opened the bag, all the flowers have fallen (not pollinated) and the remaining single flower is in the photo. Pistil was very long. I tried to pollinate the flower by brush. Matured very small fetus, which was only fifteen seeds. I do not know if they will germinate. Mostly I do not have such problems with pollination in the garden still windy and I have a lot of bumblebees there.

Vladamir, seeing your picture of the Negrillo one reminded me of this thread:

So I decidded to check my current 2015 SSE Yearbook, seeds for SSE members only, and I was surprised, although I should not have been, to see so many from Spain being offered.

Negrillo de Almguerra, by one of my seed producers as well as Ilex

Negro Azteca, by many, seeds from Aztec Indians in S America

Negro Carbo, from Tarragona Spain, by Ilex

Negro de Olmeda, from Madrid area, by Ilex

Negro De Yeste, from Murcia, Spain, by Ilex

Negro de Silex, possibly Romanian, by US person

I'm really looking forward to the ones that Ilex, an SSE member, is going to send me but I know he's very busy this time of year and I don't need them ASAP anyway.

Carolyn, I'm getting close. I've got trading seed separated after doing inventory. These days I'm taking out seed of this year's "de colgar" types.

Negrillo de Almoguera is temperamental. I guess it needs our help for proper propagation. I did everything to coax the seeds, and it didn't seem to make a difference.

Again,not to worry b/c I'd not need them until maybe late Nov, so I'd have them in time to distribute to my seed producers for next summer growouts.

Glad to hear that you got some or most of your seeds inventoried b'c I have not, and that's for my 2015 seed offer which should have gone up last January.

Carolyn, who right now is going solo since Martha who prepares most of my meals for me just had a new hip put in last Tuesday and Freda is somewhere with her son killing something, or trying to, primarily deer. It's the start of bow season here and now NYS allows for crossbows, which reminds me of medieval archers.

Three tomatoes from region Sierra del Segura:
Negro Sierra del Segura (seeds of Baikal, Mollorca)
Negro Silex (seeds of Moshou, Romania)
Rojo Sierra del Segura (seeds of Baikal, Mollorca)
I think that Negro Sierra del Segura = Negro Silex

PS.: Rojo Sierra del Segura is one of the tastiest tomatoes I ate this year.

Midseason, indeterminante , with regular leafs, relatively small beefsteak, round slightly flattened, 6-8 oz., oval flatened, good flavor. Seeds I got from Baikal with the remark that it is a heritage tomato grown in the family for more than sixty years. I do not know if his family?

Rojo Aragon: if I'm thinking about the same tomato, which I'm pretty sure, it comes from the "Bajo Aragon" region in Teruel, Aragon. I know were it originated (who), but they want to keep their location secret, so they didn't tell me were they live.

I have a Spanish tomato seeds of 35 varieties. For family reasons, I have to limit the number of plants grown tomatoes in half. Therefore, I will also cultivate only 17 varieties of Spanish tomatoes in 2016. My favorite are the large red and pink beefsteaks ***. I also want to expand the collection of seeds of new varieties (maybe five). I will buy from Tatiana the tomato Mendigorria , I will also maybe buy something from www.ebay.es. Please advise me some interesting Spanish varieties of tomatoes.
