Worth, if you did that, I think they might disappear overnight

My stepmother (Mother) took in everyone's garage sale type stuff for years. It filled five large buildings and stuff was in tubs outside those buildings. We had so much ... err ... crap out here - it was mind boggling. Along with a huge garage sale and a lot of donations to Operation Blessing and Goodwill, there were the sheets, and they have been very useful gardening. They keep plants warm under tubs in earliest spring, and they make a darn good dragon or three.

If you get all of the colors they could double as Tibetan prayer flags.

Just got through potting these up into Solo cups. I wish I could have done that a week ago. That just leaves getting raisedasnob to this stage.

Salt Raisedasnob doesn't like the heat very well but will take off again when it cools down a bit.

This is the raisedasnob's first day outside. They will get dappled shade for a few days before getting moved to progressively more sunnier locations. I'm hoping to get them transplanted into solo cups in a week, and then in-ground 10 days later.

My brother just told me that he watched a long range forecast that says only 2.5 weeks left of upper 90s and 100s. I hope so.

These pictures were taken this morning right before plant out. I didn't have a pencil or good size ref object so I used my finger as one. That finger wears a size 14 ring. I forgot to add: I'm getting sold on using MG in the solo cup stage. They grew a lot in 6 days.

Looks great Salt.
Some where, some place, somebody is looking for the illusive Raisedasnob seeds.

I've gotten a lot done this morning. The high temps for the next three days are supposed to be near records 105+ I fixed the dragons to shade better - it has been windy here in August. "Windy" and "August" are not usually associated here.

I have the okra seeds in a weak MG solution. The seeds sank as soon as I dropped them in. From what I've read, that is supposed to be a good thing. The seeds are from 2007. I'm not sure about the Louisiana Green Velvet's save year? The glasses needed to be washed - so I used them.

An F2 Cross Update: There were two crosses that we enjoyed a lot this spring. One being the VHS Cherry that was supposed to be a Riesentraube (Raisedasnob). The other was a cross of Zapotec.

The VHS Cherry and the Raisedasnob we're growing from seeds we got in the MMMM. The Riesentraube seeds we got from Worth are growing well. I can't wait to see what fruit they both produce.

The Zapotec cross, I saved seeds from the round tomatoes, and separately, saved seeds from the tomatoes that looked like mini-Zapotec tomatoes. The Zapotec cross F1 plant produced prolifically this past spring. Most of the tomatoes were round with a slight ruffling at the top. The taste was wonderful. The round tomatoes were a large cherry full of seeds and basically what you expect from most cherry tomatoes. The fluted Zapotec shaped tomatoes were the same size, but with open areas inside like a real Zapotec tomato.

I put them in-ground, kept them watered, shaded from harmful full sun, and sprayed with Garden Safe when needed. The past 3 weeks, I've been going through the summertime (Lack of interest) that happens every year in August. The past couple of days, I've become interested again. I took some pictures this morning. The first picture is to show the plants growing the same raised bed.

The 2nd and 3rd picture are interesting to me. The Fluted Zap Cross F2 in the 2nd picture is a lot taller than the Round Zap Cross F2 plant in the 3rd picture. There are two of each planted out in the garden. I'll have to go out and look at them too - now that my interest is back.

Default Lime Green Salad Update

I wish the camera would take the pictures as I see them, but they still look good. I'm growing others that are multiflora - the VHS Cherry plants are blooming and are about three times taller, and the Raisedasnob is starting to bloom.

What would you call the way LGS blooms?
