Glad to have been able to send out seeds to all.

How did you find the taste of your BFC?

My BFC is doing well. I gave one to a friend of mine, and both plants were RL. I had a 100% germination from the 4 I planted, but I lost 2 in the seedling stage. Thank you! I am looking forward to seeing how well it grows!

I thought it was great, better tasting then my StumpOW, and Earls Faux. I am ready for the rest to start ripening...Ray, at what stage are your plants at now?

Raybo, Here are a few pics of my oldest BFC plant. I'm impressed with how well it has done for me.
Thanks again for the seed.

Tim

Tim,

Your plant is looking great! Those are about the size I remember from last year. I will really be interested in your taste evaluation.

This year, I have staggered out my tomato plantings, sort of like an Air Traffic Controller, to get a wide harvest range until Christmas. My Brandywine From Croatia was planted June 8. Second from the left:

So hopefully, I will have BFC on the Christmas dinner table.

Raybo, This is shaping up to be my best Tomato season ever.
I am bagging blooms like crazy.
You're plants, as always, are looking good as well.
You can look forward to a big BLT sandwich on Christmas Day.
Man that sure sounds good to me. Take care.

This is my largest BW Croatia I've picked. I had to pick it a little early because I could no longer support the weight.

In my experience PL varieties are more tolerant of both the fungal and bacterial foliage diseases.

So is your Croatian Brandywine RL as it should be, or PL, as some folks are also getting?

Bradywine should be PL

Brandywine X NAR ( Neves Azorean Red) is now stable and has been named Dixiewine and is RL. A PL selection from the same cross is called Branner, or something like that; too much heat and humidity here to be able to think straight.

carolyn

my croatian brandywine is RL however i did get one PL which is not in my garden.

as for the brandywine X nar, i got them from a tomatoville member who received them as an f3 and was saved seed from PL and RL plants. i have both. and neither are doing well for me. actually even a few of them growing a couple hours north in another garden i maintain arent thriving. from what i was told the F3 produced large plants with lots of fruit so i am going to chalk this up to the elements. maybe this plant doesnt like the weather here this year

If you got the Brandywine X NAR at the F3 that must have been quite a few years ago since it took out to the F6 or 7 before it was genetically stable and then named .

Any chance you got the F4's from Tomtrees, aka Tom M, also in Jersey, b'c he was in the line of folks that the seeds passed through on their way to something stable.
