Dogs have owners but cats have "staff".

I have 3 (spoiled) indoor cats.

Yes they do. Their cute little muzzles and eyes. Fluffy tails and soft fur.

...I just ordered a motion detector sprinkler. The war has just begun.

Wet little muzzles, which are used on my hooter when I'm lying abed and she wants something.
"Yes, dear, those are boogers on my sleeve. But they're not mine."

War is hell, and cats hate water thrown on them by someone else. The sprinkler should do the trick.

We have this visiting cat that comes by now and then. He is very naughty and cute. He behaves more like a dog than a cat.
I was at the garden few weeks ago he was playing around, checking everything out. Then dug a hole , did his thing , covered it and left. I call him Leo. He has lion's color and looks like a small lion.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought, "Just push them off the bed."

That's funny. If I pushed my cat off the bed he just jumped back up. That's why I'm tired all day.

Well, the sprinkler motion detector works like a charm. Nothing has been in my beds digging since installing. It has it's faults though, like going off when it's really windy.

My wife works about 25 miles away in a town called Fredericksburg. It is an old German settlement full of old Germans. She says the old women there all tell her the same thing,"make your husband pee outside around the garden to keep the wild animals and pets out. I asked her to find out what they do after their husbands die but they never seem willing to answer.

I spent the night in Fredericksburg one time.
The place goes to bed with the chickens.
We had to eat supper out of a convenience store.
It is a tourist place you would think something would be open.

The culture there is thoroughly embedded. Take care of business early, evenings are for family and inconveniencing a few tourists means little by comparison. It's a great town filled with good folks whose values supersede commerce.

I know several people that were born and raised there and live there.
One of which his aunt ran the Fredericksburg brewery and restaurant for awhile.

As for pee keeping critters away it doesn't seem to be working here.
Maybe coyotes but not possums and coons.

I need to visit this town. They sound like my people.

My neighboorhood/city is getting more scary

The best time is during the week day on weekends it is full of people from Austin.
That is when we always went on week days.
Also the Pacific War museum is there and is the home town of Admiral Nimitz.

Here is a good story about Easter and the place.

My family comes from just north of it about 70 miles away in Bend Texas.
