Magila Rosa (trying this instead of Blush this year)
Brandywine Sudduth's (supposed to be one of the best)
Brandywine Cowlick's (curious to how these two compare, side by side)
Orange Russian 117 (first heart, my son picked it out because he thought the shape and color looked really neat)
KARMA Pink (really excited to try this one)
Matina (gets lots of love, plus early and expecting to keep going hard to frost)
Noire de Crimee (had off type last year, excited to try this next to Black Krim)
Malachite Box (not having grown many GWR, but love the ones I have)
Crnkovic Yugoslavian X Jaune Flammee F1 (F1 will be fun, but really can't wait for F2)

Malachite Box is my favorite GWR.

This afternoon I started about half of what I want to grow. Taking a break from it all, and next step is to categorize everything so I know where I stand with orange, bi-colors, saladettes, slicers, etc. I didn't see any pastes go in the pots so need to start lots more of those. Between myself, a friend, neighbor (a benefit to me as I get to watch without the work or space), garden club exchange I'll have about 100 different plants depending on germination. Cutting down on random give aways from last year that never heard back from to produce larger transplants.

I am considering next year that I'll try fewer different varieties and instead do more side by side comparisons of different strains (Stupices, Mortgage Lifters etc.), original vs seeds saved in my main garden (I grew on a neighbors plot for the past few years and didn't keep track of which garden I saved seeds from). trying to decide which varieties I want to do the comparisons so I can start the originals now.

A few new to me, many from this year's MMMM and kind trades and gifts:

Dona F1
Dora
Sgt. Pepper
Dutchman
Dipp's Pink Butterfly (seeds from 2006!!!)
Mountain Princess
Mary Huddleson
Dikaga Roza
AMH
Punta Banda
several crosses to compare next generation in 2019
many I can't see this late in the evening without my readers

Livingston's Magnus
Pork Chop
Brandywine Sudduth
Brandywine Joyce's
Stump of the World
Paul Robeson
Brad's Atomic Grape
Berkeley Tie Dye
GGWT
Barry's Crazy Cherry
Yellow Ingleheart
Cherry Roma

Mine are in solo cups and doing good outside. So far GGWT and Paul Robeson are really cranking along. So hard making the final cuts on these in terms of what ends up in garden! Envious of all these huge grows you all are doing. As it stands with my 8 or so plants i make sure everyone at work gets sick of my tomato giveaways by end of summer.

Capt. Neon, the taste of Berkeley Tie Dye Green was great for us with very little/no watering. I called the tomato ripe whenever the red streaks were the color of a standard red tomato.

Default Tentative Grow lists for Spring 2018

This is going to be a year of re-visiting some varieties that did well in earlier years, but were dropped due to sickliness and low production after what I now know is soil disease set in. All will be grafted onto DRO14TX rootstock.

Here's where I'm at, but I still have about 10 days to change my mind...

Eating:

Franchi Cherry (circa 2012)
Neves Azorean Red
*Kosovo
*Mat-Su Express
Dester
Virginia Sweets
Moskovich
Gregori's Altai
*Siletz

Pastes:

Franchi Giant Pear
Romeo
Nudi Family Heirloom
Opalka
Santa Maria
Sulia's Heart
Aunt Swarlo's Polish Plum
Work Release Paste
Russian 117
*(un-named family heirloom received in a trade)
*Gilbertie Paste
*Kim's Civil War Oxheart
Russo Sicilian Togeta
Costoluto Genovese

* never grown before
