That's wonderful PH. I was wondering if you were growing for cut flowers but I guess not!

I have a lonicera that grows like a tall shrub in one hedge. It blooms early and is not scented. Whether the flowers attract pollinators, I know not but I do know that it is a host to all sorts of insects including bees (?) that make tiny nests in rolled up leaves. It becomes rather unsightly but I don't care because it is a fabulous host to the little fliers.

Bought the plant in April, been growing it in a large pot, and now I see buds!

Let me know if you get fruit set. If not, I can send you some of my passion flower anthers that are full of pollen. U can cross breed it and see if you get fruit set.

Trees are blooming pretty good right now. The pink dwarf poinciana tree flowers have not opened yet.

Nice photos Gardenboy. I bought one (Poinciana) at a nursery a couple of weeks ago and I'd say it's about 2.5 feet tall. It hasn't bloomed yet. No one's ever sent me anthers before, I must say.

This butterfly was flitting all over the plant this morning. This is its host plant (or one of them anyway). I'm expecting blooms on the plant in a few days.

Nice butterfly!
We don't have that many kinds up here but the swallow tails are out and this one I noticed while installing upstairs window screens the other day. Do you know what it is? It is liking the Portuguese laurel flowers. Next to it are American Pillar rosebuds just starting to open up, one I grew from a cutting. It is a rose that likes to grow up and through stuff and is doing so with the laurel.

Do you know how many photos I had to snap until I got one that wasn't blurry? I did a google search of black butterflies and couldn't find one that looks like yours. On closer look, I see he has some brown on his wings.

Variety "Inspiration." Gardenboy, if mine don't set fruit , I'll take you up on your anther offer. Do I just schmear the pistils with the anther pollen?????

The tiny plant I put out in April has grown tremendously. I'm getting mutiple blooms per day, but they dry up and fall off without setting fruit. Anyone who can grow them and who wants fruit should try another variety.

I found a nook in which to put a small Ixora. It will grow 2 to 3 feet tall. Butterflies love it.
