The babies are enjoying today's view of the garden. Rain, rain, rain. 13mm by 9am this morning.

Must update my list as there are some no-shows and I might sow some more varieties. Oops...did I really say that?!

You did. I heard you!

I'm in the same boat. I sowed some Cherokee Chocolate and I really want to try it but so far, no show. I should be grateful that my list has been reduced by one, but no, I'll sow more. Trouble is, that means going to the seed drawer and I have no control. I just know I'll come away with more than Cherokee Chocolate!

I heard that too Spatz!

Mantis, I was wondering where you were. When do you think you'll be eating your first tommie?

I too have a no-show that I am very disapointed about. Red brandywine. First sowing of 4 seeds on August 24th, nothing came up. Second sowing 9 seeds Sept 5th only five days ago but not even a bump in the dirt. Used up all that were left in the second sowing so if nothing happens I'll have to go without.

The babies were potted on saturday and are resting now. Looking good too!

Now need to work out my disease prevention strategy.

Have a lot of no shows this year, but anything and everything that is fresh seed is UP with a capital U. Just goes to show the importance of saving and sowing.

They are coming along nicely, Manto. I see a gum leaf in the foreground, righthand side of pic, don't I? What the product in the white container? And why the strings? Do you hang washing in there?

Nuff questions for now... plenty tomato sprouts here. Come and help me pot up.

Good growing. Gs.

Spatz is a rock chick. Cool.

Mantis,
What size of pots are you using? Soil mix?

Cosmic,
I check out your blogspot and thoroughly enjoyed reading it and of course looking at the pictures.

No more room in there Tessa, all spots are taken

Grub the gum leaf is on a flowering gum that is still frost tender so will be planted out in a month or so. The container has copper fungicide powder in it.
The strings are for tying up the plants as they grow

Jeff, the black pots are 10inch with there bottoms cut off. I use a 50/50 mix of good purchased potting mix and coir peat with some dolomite lime added.
The real machines in there are the selfwatering tubs. Couldn't beleive the growth of the plants in them last year, and they are taking off the same this year

I am gradually getting rid of excess seedlings by giving them to folk at the schools I visit. Hope to spread the addiction
