Wow, Salix - like us but even more extreme.
We went to 3C last night and today it's 23 C. We didn't quite make 10 C for a high yesterday. In English the low 37-38 F and the high today 74 F!!! We are roasting. Winds are only gusting to 25 mph. Yesterday struggling to hit 50 F. It was a very good day for working in the garden. Outlook for the week is mostly low to mid 70's and is classic July heat for us! Bring on the beer! |

12 days of rain here. Usually just a stray shower but still a pita for my outside tomatoes. I can't get a high tunnel fast enough.

High 90's on the official temp, add a few degrees up for all the pavement here. The sort of weather that you can stand still in the shade and still be sweating and sticky. I get things done early early, or late, or not at all at this time of year.
Two fingered driving, hot water from both taps and don't sit on a hot car seat wearing shorts! |

Left Indy this am hot and humid and will be happy to be away from heat for 8 days - not sure if it rained or not left my 100 plants in care of trusted neighbor for watering......

You know I bought those Cranberry Heritage beans from Bob's Red Mill with plans to plant them on my big trellis area. Problem is I still have too many tomatoes growing out there. Now that I have cleared the other trellis area of the beans on one side and cantaloupe on the other I guess I could plant them there.
I wonder how late I could plant them in the summer and how bad the fungus's would be in the heat and humidity here?

In Indy and Southern Mi I used to plant a 2nd crop with no problems but never quite enough time for a full 2nd, plus we didn't/don't have it as bad as you weather wise

Yeah, I think I am going to wait for a fall crop on these beans. I'm having a hard time with the heat and humidity right now and it's only going to get worse.

Bummer with tough weather, Brother in DFW and Son in Tuscon - both say it is tough in the summer and you have more uncomfortable working and living conditions. We all sweat even in Indy but I don't know if I could grow in your conditions - don't want to try it either if you know what i mean..........

But we do get to plant for fall though. Most cold weather crops I should be able to grow through winter if I cover during the cold snaps.

82 degrees and 74% humidity with 20% chance of rain as of now. Just came in a few minutes ago from redoing the watermelon hammock for the trellis. More on that in the "Growing Watermlon" thread.

Currently 77, supposed to go to 97 today, but the humidity is down at 67%. Just watered the tomato plants since I fertilized last night and all seem ok except for stalling out due to the heat. Some leaf roll but that always happens - no bugs or such, just the causing it.
