Strong pointed hearts have set on all 12 of the midnight sun plants. Now if they are great tasting bicolored like last year, I will be a happy amateur tomato breeder.

Very impressive! Do you have the plots at community gardens year long or just seasonal rent?

It's been a rainy and cool June in Montreal, lots of wind to go along with it. I don't think we've had 48 hours of sun in a row. I'm keeping my tomatoes sprayed with Serenade to avoid all kinds of fungal and bacterial disease and so far so good, as well as other bothersome pests. Fruits are finally starting to set, but it's going to be late before I see an "early" variety ripen. Today feels like a late August day, bummer!

Karen, I just want to add that I think you're no amateur. This is so exciting to watch! I can't wait to see your results and eventually get to grow out your beautiful tomatoes.

Polaris getting some big ones too. Definitely later than midnight sun by I'm guessing a couple of weeks at least. This is the big black one or at least it should be...
