Fifteen degrees warmer, but not warm! This is really cold for us too. Sunday this front came in pwith gale force, toppled 2 banana trees, one had a really nice stalk of bananas forming. It fell on my Orange Rusdian 117, but only broke 1 branch. We are trying to prop up the tree so it can finish forming its bananas.

Barb,
Like you've mentioned before, I think those few degrees difference is why I can get blooms sometimes when it's too hot for your plants. Ginny |

I dont have any good pictures yet because it has been in the 30s and 40s at night the last few weeks so not much is growing right now.
I do have one plants setting a few tomatoes (not sure how). And I'm still moving my seedlings outside on warm sunny days and inside at night. They are just maintaining until I can plant them out. And in this cup there are two plants from the same seed source (unstable seed). One of them never got a main growth shoot. I'll be culling it but left it long enough to be sure it wasnt going to grow. Ginny |

Beautiful Ginny. I bet the anticipation must be unbearable at times. I know I would be checking the predicted weather forecast hourly haha.

The 10 day forecast shows it's starting to get consistently warmer so I'm planning to plant themout a week from Saturday. Have you been spraying yours much? Ginny |

The only difference I believe I am doing is treating the city water w/ a chloramine water conditioner for min. 48 hours prior to filling reservoirs or spraying the foliage. I inoculated my potting mix w/ mycorrhizae prior to transplant and the chloramine would likely kill any beneficial fungi as a result. |

Ginny, I am enjoying your pictures. Your seedlings are looking good! Hope you get to plant them out soon. I started a few seeds yesterday, early I know, but I just have the need to see those tomato babies sprout up so I can brush those leaves to get a whiff!

No dill I wonder if the dill seed I have for spice would work or if they baked it.
I'm going to give it a try. Worth Last edited by Worth1; February 12, 2016 at 05:07 PM. |
