The F2 was a pack left over from last years swap. Since you like pastes, you likely received just about every paste in the swap.

If the F2 is anything like the F1, I'd toss it. But then, I can't see how the F2 could be any worse than the F1. It's clearly a gamble over possibly wasting garden space. I don't know if anyone has yet to take that gamble.

Thanks for the info, Gary. I had seen all the not too favorable reviews on the FI, but I thought that if someone took the time to save seeds for it, it might have had some redeeming quality that others didn't appreciate. I'll put it in the round file.

And while we're at it, what are your recent results with Doubloon? You sent the F7 seeds to me last year and given that I was looking to vary my slicer crop colors a bit this year, it has earned a spot on my grow list. Again, if you took the time to save seeds and grow it out all these years, I figured it had to be worth trying. I read all the old posts on it, but any updates will be appreciated!

Thanks again for all the tomato, pepper, and shallot (!) seeds.

The F2 seeds from last year were possibly mine. I sent my remaining F1 and the F2s in to the swap. I wasn't enthralled with the flavor of the F! and decided I was not going to grow them again. I sent the saved seeds so others could satisfy their curiosity without having to purchase an entire pack.

Sorry I can't help with the F2 question!

The best way I can describe Doubloon, is sweet and "citrus-y", so I doubt that you'd like it.

If I sent them, and you've yet to try them, my suggestions are Donskoi (about the only non-sweet heart from what I've read) and Aunt Gertie's Gold. AGG is a very late variety, so it should be one of the first to get sown.

Abe Lincoln might be another to try. I've been hoping for seeds of Old Brooks for the swap, but it's never showed up, yet.

Hmmm... Citrusy definitely puts it on the probably not list.

I have six spots and right now Donskoi is on the list, as is Orange Russion 117, Seek No Further Live Apple, Cuor Di Bue, and Shuntutski Velican.

I guess I need to choose a different Orange/Yellow. I did grow AGG a few years ago. I absolutely loved the taste, but hated the fact that I only got two fruit off it. Maybe it's time to give it another shot.

Thanks again for all your input, Gary!

Sweet and citrusy...kind of like orangeade, not at all like lemonade.

Lemonade I like, orangeade I can deal with, but neither flavor belongs in a tomato in my personal opinion.

Istraand the I is pronounced long é, I'm thinking. A full sized red indeterminate that produces very large fruit, and lots of them. So many, that it's necessary to pinch blooms and reduce the number, or trusses will snap and they won't all fit in the wheelbarrow. Carolyn might have said this somewhere.

I have one that I can't figure out what it is or which part is the name. I am putting the numbers 77 at the end of the He.. as I am not sure if typing that word on here is acceptable or not.

Package says fmc He77 Frucht

Also I can't find this one. Maybe I am reading it wrong. Lolumoianum ??

I grew it in 2014 & 2015 with similar impressive results. It's a very tall RL indeterminate plant, but well-behaved and it resisted the usual fungal leaf disease a bit better than many blacks. It is late but gave me about 18 lbs. of fruit (most just under or over a pound, so I'd say that's large) not including the MANY that I didn't weigh because it was a worm favorite. The fruits were more roundish than beefsteak shape and not prone to cat facing or splitting of any kind and had a great taste and texture.

My seeds came from Terry so I included a link to her description as well as where you can see some pics I posted in posts 7 & 8.
