Just got in from watering and removing the last two tomato plants from the garden. Went out at 6:30 am and it was 80 degrees and 80% humidity out there. Hour and half later it's 82 degrees and 79% humidity. Boy it's hot out there and we are in for another heat index of 105-109 degrees today.
Stay safe out there everyone!

The whole area is mulched with about 4 to 6 inches of wood chips, so it wasn't hard to pull the weeds, just hot. And the weeds annoy me, because that is what the mulch is there for, that and moisture retention. It's my front yard.

We got another inch of rain yesterday and what fruit was near ripe just burst and cracked. We have been consistently getting some form of rain 7 or 8 times a week for a long time now and the high humidity and the scorching heat between the rains has caused a ridiculous amount of foliage diseases on my tomatoes. Now it is getting bad on my bell peppers also. I'm still getting a few edible tomatoes each day so if I can keep them alive til we get some drier weather maybe I will still be getting a few tomatoes later in the summer and fall.

I put my fishing stuff in the car last night, planning to go this morning. Woke up at 6a to rain and decided to sit on the back porch with my coffee and enjoy the rain. Weekend is supposed to be mid 80's with much lower humidity. I think I will wait and go fishing tomorrow after I drop my wife off for work.

a cold front is moving through the state starting tomorrow with lows in the 60's. maybe a low of 63 on Saturday, w/ lower humidity and highs in the 80's. looks like it is time to catch up on my weed eatin' and beer drinkin' - it's been too hot for either lately.

It's 80 degrees and 85 degrees and 85% humidity. An hour ago it was 80 egrees and 89% humidity when I went out to water and spray neem oil in the garden. White flies are everywhere and discovered when I cut tomato plants down yesterday. Nothing seemed effected yet so I think it is a new outbreak. Another hot scorcher today with 105-109 degree index temps.
Sty cool everyone!
