Sorry.
Matagorda bay and south is where you want to go.
Best oysters on earth.
Taste like fresh rain smells.

Galveston reminded me of our local lake to a T - Same feeling, same smell - just more of it.

I was hoping someone else was familiar with the song... otherwise you were all going to think I was completely crazy!

They used to broadcast the Dr. Demento weekly radio show on a local station when I was in my teens, and "Fish Heads" would typically make it into the top five requested songs every week.

We smoked weed played spades and listened to the show when I was in the Marines back in the day before drug testing.

We finally found some Marsala wine. We had been looking at the local grocery stores but couldn't find any (Except cooking wine ). As it turns out, it has too much alcohol by volume to be sold at our county's grocery stores. We had to go to a liquor store to find one variety. The one they had is Taylor New York.

We want to make Chicken Marsala next week. (Hopefully Taylor isn't the MD 2020 version of Marsala) We don't know squat about wine. Have any of you tried Taylor New York Marsala? Any opinions?

Yah. Taylor is pretty low-end, but should be good enough for your purposes. You might like the tipple, too.

Marsala, like Port, is considered a "fortified wine", meaning the alcohol content is higher than the beer/wine cutoff. (Some unfortified wine is too, notably the big reds.)

Open it and let us know what you think.

It's tastes good ... very good. It's fruity, not overly sweet, yet somewhat dry. mmm

I buy the same stuff it is no worse then the real stuff from Marsala.
I have drank almost a whole bottle and no hangover what so ever.
((((((That)))) is a sign of a good wine.
The Taylor brands are good brands just not expensive.
Like many less known alcohols are.
You take a shot of Evan Williams and then one of Jack Daniels.
Jack will taste like kerosene and cost way more due to songs and and stupid biker reputation.
Blind taste tests have proven over and over that less costly is many times better.

It really doesn't matter other than you like the taste- because that is a main thing you are using it for in cooking. So, high end/low end, if you like the taste, use it!

I've been using of a bottle of $4.99 wine, the Moiselle I have been using lately. I like the taste enough to be thinking of getting 2 or 3 more bottles while Aldi's has it cheap at that price.

I like the raisin taste. I can tell it will taste good in the chicken marsala.

I know what you mean about some cheaper brands tasting better. Potters Vodka is triple distilled and cost about $12 for the 1.75L bottle. Better is that it doesn't smell and taste like rubbing alcohol like so many of the more expensive brands.

Speaking of alcohol some supervisor for another company was on the job in his truck.
I smoke and I could smell the booze a mile away I mean I was like 50 feet from him.
Vodka.
If I can smell it then there is no way he could pass a breath test I dont care when he stopped drinking.
This was at noon too.

Got sort of a sauerbraten thing going on with some leftover chuck roast I had.
I took the tender part and had a rare steak.
Now I have cubed up the rest.
It is soaking in a pan with Madeira cider vinegar bay leaves black pepper oregano and a pinch of citric acid.
