I'm totally new to this seed swap thing and I'm a bit nervous to start. I'm a little bit confused, so please forgive me if I make a blunder.

Just to make this absolutely crystal clear for me: I send in 10 ten packs of seeds for every category I want to participate in? This is what I have going on in my head:

10 ten packs of Opalka to enter the Paste category
10 ten packs of Speckled Roman to enter the striped category
10 ten packs of Pineapple to enter the Orange/Bicolor category
10 ten packs of Blush to enter the Cherry category
10 ten packs of Ernesto to enter the heart category
10 ten packs of Japanese Black Trifele to enter the Black category

And then I post my wishlist on the other thread? I have a few specific ones I want to try.

Right? I'm fairly certain I got it right, but I don't want to mess up...

Hybrids are perfectly OK to request. But, there are usually more requests than what comes in.

As for SunGold (the most requested hybrid last year), I'm thinking about possibly making a bulk purchase of a few hundred seeds if I can find a source that will deliver by December. Last year, several people donated (I'm not saying how much) beyond postage costs to the swap. This money was pooled to make a purchase of seeds from one of Tomatoville's members that has a seed biz. Maybe this can be done with SunGold wish listers.
Here's the Sun Gold F1 seeds in bulk, they ship all year.

Thanks Marsha.

If I go with the 250-350 seeds, that would average about 15 seeds each going to about 20 participants. The 500-700 seeds means doubling the seeds per person or doubling the participants.

I'd like some feedback from those who might like SunGold. Would 15 seeds be too few? too many? just right? Remember, the seeds are good for several years.

In the meantime, Margaret Curtain looks to be the most requested variety in the swap, for now. It is on about half of all wish lists.

the seeds are good for many years so why not buying the big pack? I think 15 seeds are ok but who nows the number of participants right now? if there are seeds left over you can put it in the swap next year.

I was going to buy sungold this year, and still might... Tormato, will there be a post that tells us the cost of mailing, and how best to provide that for you? (I am in canada). I really appreciate what you are doing, and would pitch in a little extra for any seeds that are bought (whatevervariety and for whomever).

I would bet 15 will be enough. I have never gotten anything except 100% germination from them, so if a person sows 3 and grows 2 they will have 5 years worth. But really, I just betcha if they sow 2 they'll get 2 plants. Such a nice little hybrid.

MrBig46, I have some seed of a couple of hearts I grew last year in the greenhouse, no pollinators. I can send them for you if you don't already have any of these:
Zolotye Kupola (yellow with pink blush inside, huge and sweet, steady production on a big vine)
Rozoviy Flamingo heart (pink, large and shapely, sweet and tasty, large vine not a big producer)
Danko (red, 3-4 ft. determinate, produced early and lasted, repeated late)
Zolotoe Serdtse (Beta orange, semi-determinate, 7 oz very firm fruit, very productive)

I too was intending to buy Sungold; 15 seeds is a perfect number. Can't believe how excited I am about this, my first big swap.
