Steve, the taste is magnificent, grows easy let me get the description

Red Bulgarian Giant - indet, middle, 2 - 3lb, beefsteak - middle meaning mid season

Seed Source was Martin Longseth of Wisconsin, I think I remember he told me he got it from Romania

Here is what Martin said about Bulgarian Red Giant recently;

"Definitely agree that Bulgarian Red Giant is a good one. That was one of the better ones from last year. A friend liked it so much that he grew it this year and says that he's going to grow it forever."

If it is that good, you ought to save seeds to pass around T'ville. A good candidate for the swap if you are participating.

The only tomato that I know that will return from this years grow out is Daniel Burson. It is a great flavored large black/purple fruited tomato with PL foliage. This one will now be on my MUST GROW list each and every year. It is THAT good.

Thank you Marsha and Travis.

Marsha, I am hoping you are growing Daniel Burson. I wanted this one for some times now. Some seeds are not easy to find.

I will be sending Daniel Burson to the 2015 MMMM Swap. There will be plenty of bonus packages, so please request some in the MMMM thread in the Wanted section. I believe that this tomato needs to be passed around.

I initially decided not to join the swap this year.

You just convinced me to join. :

Alice's Egypt and Sunset Red Horizon.

In addition I hope to find a Black variety to grow. As of this date I have never found a Black variety that I liked and grew well for me.

Stop tempting me! Every time I think I have my list for next year, you guys talk about another must have!!! Daniel Burson, yikes! Well for a black that I grew this year, Margaret Curtain was very productive for me as well as IS RL. I'm planning on growing IS PL next year and bringing back Black from Tula. Although it's a hybrid, Momotaro has proved to be very delicious. Not as productive as I had hoped or as early, but I'll blame that on the horrible start to summer we had.

Sharon it can happen. Ella got me to think about grafting. Worst part, because grafting opens so many possibilities...I kept buying a seeds.

I guess that's the problem really, it's like visiting a candy shop. And the options are limitless. My grow list for next year has already changed 5 times, kind of bad huh?

I went from not joining MMMM, to joining, to not joining, to joining again...sigh I just need more room now.

Sharon, let me tell you this and then I will tempt you no more. I grew Margaret Curtain and Indian Stripe last year, I am growing Indian Stripe PL this year along with Daniel Burson. Daniel Burson beats them all hands-down. It is a very large black tomato that also keeps well. It has a great texture which is important to me. My description of its flavor is that it has a nice sweet start, a tart body with a very well-balanced finish to it. A pleasant complex tomato if I ever had one. This could well be the only black/purple tomato that I grow in the future.

Daniel Burson IS x Daniels sounds VERY interesting. Photogenic tomato. I understand it's relatively stable, F6 or so. Is anyone selling it yet? Strictly swaps?

On a different note, I just harvested two large Desters from a plant growing in a 5 gallon bucket. It doesn't seem to mind the relatively small volume, it keeps putting out big orbs. Awesome burger tomato. Got it in a swap, thank u again Tomatoville.
