No,I'm not thinking of myself here since peppers don't do well where I am,but I am thinking of others who might also want seeds since it appears to be a unique variety..

I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to peppers, but I managed to sprout about 18 of these. It looks to me like the true leaves are showing 3 types, some with usual pepper leaves, some with doubled leaves, and some with a doubled tip that looks like a bite was taken out, only clean smooth edges, and they are in a screened enclosure where nothing but lizards can get in, and thats only because they scoot in when we open the patio door. So nothing bit the leaves, that's their shape.
Is this normal for a stable pepper?

Here's a group not so crowded and 2 weeks older showing the leaf differences. Thing is, some of the leaves on the double one look normal. What is the consensus? Do we think this is a hybrid after all? Is this something normal in stable bell peppers?

In all of my pepper jouneys i have yet to see a leaf like that. After my seedlings go in the garden they are pretry much left alone so i suppose i may have had one but have never seen one like that.

It must be that tulip gene that Fred mentioned on the first page of this thread

Hmmm, interesting. I've not seen that on any peppers I've grown before either. I would be surprised if it had anything to do with being unstable, though.

No tulip genes in there. One of my pepper plants also have some double leaves. I think it's probably just some random mutation.

Edit : I just want to make it clear that this isn't the same variety you're growing, it's a different one. Just a brown sweet pepper. The plant is about one year old now.

Marsha, I've seen that before on pepper seedlings; I think it's just a leaf abnormality for that one leaf. I think the next leaves will be normal.
I never thought much about it-the peppers weren't anything special!

The story behind this pepper - Wilfred van den Berg found this pepper in his greenhouse in Est in 2013. He describes it as showing up as a natural mutation. He then teamed up with Enza Zaden to start growing it in greenhouse production. It's now on market. I don't know for sure if it's stable, but the description of it showing up spontaneously reminds me of what happened with GGWT. But I sure can't wait to see how yours turn out! Is anyone else growing this right now?

That's good to know. I think I will grow at least 6- 3 with the weird leaves, 3 with normal leaves, just to see.
