Hummert sold me "trade size" gallon pots the last time I ordered. They are, I'd guess, 85-90% of a gallon.

Time to bloom is similar to a tomato in a gallon pot. I'd say 6-8 weeks, depending on weather.

I should start some melons and cukes to sell. I haven't done that yet. They have a very short shelf life as potted plants.

I'm going for the sunflowers!

I've got Basil in 4 in pots, two 1020 trays of microgreens, peppers in 1 gal, and tomato plants (mostly dwarfs) in 1 gal too. Fingers crossed.

As a consumer, not a market grower, the yup's would eat up the dwarf sunflowers in pots. Very cheap they are, the young professional crowd, and love things in pots that will last longer than cut. I've been growing all the dwarfs from Johnny's for a while now and love the small scale in the garden. The talls are outside the garden for the deer and birds.

I bought some of the small grey felt looking grow bags from GreenhouseMegastore that are so yup-ready. I added a dozen to try maybe some micros while i had another order going....they are a buck each but look great. Actually less than a buck.
(i bought some of each size to try different things)...Yup ready and fold that top edge down an inch or two....stylish

I scored yesterday at hardware store. Went to see about more stakes and while waiting at counter I checked out the seed display and they happened to have packages of Dwarf Sungold. Never heard of Bentley seeds before, but am going to give them a try. Package was 1.99 but when I opened it there was 100 seeds in it.

I don't need 100 sunflower seeds, if somebody wants some, be glad to share.

I'm hoping to have a big day with the dwarf sunflowers tomorrow, the day before Mother's Day. You gotta bee-lieve: http://i.imgur.com/NvFmOKQ.jpg

Thank you. I had a good morning.

I started out like this: http://i.imgur.com/HgE4TtK.jpg

And then I ended like this: http://i.imgur.com/KhntkfS.jpg The flat on the right has a few eggplant in it in the last pic. I sold them as I was loading the truck. I sold every tomato and sunflower that I took.

Very savvy with the display, Cole! Sharp from start to finish.
Nothing turns customers off like a big empty table ( unless it's a big empty table with a few broken leaves and dirt on it. ). It's a challenge to sell out, because the more you sell, the more it seems there's nothing to choose from. You did a great job with it.

Sometimes the visitors to my table are more colorful than my table:

Cole... When you get a chance, could you tell me about how deep and wide the container is that you put your Sunflower plants in? I have one gallons and then I have what's called a 1.8 trade gallon. I'm not sure which to use. Hate to waste soil if I don't have too.

I got some babies up. I remember you said don't plant them deeper than what they are up now. I have them sprouted in 3 1/2" by 3/12" pots. They just starting to get first true leaves. How big, before you transplant, or do you think I should do now once true leaves get fully out?
