I've read that men especially need to eat cooked tomato product for aid in preventing a personal cancer. But the most benefit was said to be from cooked tomato. I hope you dear guys are chowing down !

I didn't see a days to maturity for Marzano Fire...is that 75 days also?

The results have been confirmed for awhile. Including in the study I linked above. And Artisan Seeds did NOT provide financial backing to any orange tomato study, or any high priced dinners, etc. etc.

I'm OK. I eat lots of Orange Jazz...

I think Marzano Fire would is probably 65-75 days under most conditions

Hey Fred, does Artisan seeds ship to Canada ? Also, do you do paypal? No problem, if no on either, I can order from AP Whaley in Dec when they get stock.

Lastly, what can you tell us about orange Caprese ?

Hi Mark,

We don't ship outside the US. Primarily because I am more a breeder than a seed seller, and I just haven't had time to fine-tune the website to deal with the shipping differences (our US shipping is free). Right now the exception is that we have Canadians in our Collaborating Members program.

Most everything we release, however, will be available at AP Whaley or Johnny's (and often other places as well).

Orange Caprese is a plum-shaped tomato with exceptional "fresh" flavor. We recommend it both for use in fresh salads (including Caprese salad) and also as a paste tomato.

It is not a typical paste tomato, but it has good flavor, and is very nice in tomato sauces with pink/red paste tomatoes, or in delicate orange sauces.

Orange Caprese's limitations are that it does not have verified disease resistance, and the plants are wispy and weak-looking.

Thanks Fred, no problems on the shipping to Canada part, I completely understand. Thanks for the info as well on Orange Caprese. I have a few varieties trialling now with whimpy leaf issue...lol. I have a couple of months before AP Whaleys restocks so I can decide then. Already have the bumble bees and tigers ordered, Blush and Maglia Rosa will be ordered in Nov. So that leaves Jazz, orange Jazz, Manzano Fire and possibly Orange Caprese for Dec. Things are coming together for 2016 !

Here's Orange Jazz and Jazz - sowed on 9/15; pic taken 10/30 so 45 days. I have 3 plants of each OJ, J, and OC. (planted 3 seeds of each so all made it to an Earthbox or SWC).

Orange Caprese is coming along; Spike is the slowest grower ever - Thinking I should start over for Spike and Maglia Rose. Our Septembers are still brutally hot and humid (90 for both) and we had bad white flies too.

Barb, what nutrient regiment are you following for your Earthboxes? The standard EB recommended conventional fertilizer "bands" or some other?
