Cherokee Purple
Kelloggs Breakfast
Cosmonaut Volkov - all new to me and all delicious.

Others may return - but I just have limited space and a long "want to try" list.

Returning for the second year: Sungold, Black Cherry - two popular varieties I always avoided until this year.

Returning for the ninth year: Black Krim, Pink Brandywine, Cherokee Purple - My top three of all time.

I always say I won't grow Yellow Pear again, but I've grown it three years running. I might give Honey Drop a try instead. Yellow Pear is so prolific even when I ignore the plants, good to give out to neighbors.

I have at least a dozen new varieties for next year, including:
-Dwarf Cherokee Green
-Red Pisa Date
-Matt's Wild Cherry
-Yellow Brandywine
-Henderson's Pink Ponderosa
-Homestead
-Nepal
-New Yorker
-Pink Brandywine from different source

Possibly returning next year (on/off relationship)
-Red Oxheart
-Yellow Oxheart
-San Marzano
-Jubilee
-Beefsteak

Going into the greenhouse, may overwinter:
-Mexico Midget

Celebrity will be returning to the patio. It is my wife's decision if she wants to swap Roma for another plum, or Super Sweet 1000 for another cherry.

Better Boy and Pink Brandywine will both be coming back to the community garden plot, but both reduced a plant each to trial Ponderosa and Brandy Boy.

My wife gets to pick three plants so I am unsure if any that she picked for 2015 will be making a return engagement in 2016.

Tomatoes returning to my garden in 2016 are all based entirely on WOW flavor:

1. BW Sudduth's

2. Ramapo Purple (a black mutant from Claud)

3. Pappy Kerns (my grandfather's heirloom heart - will include these seeds in my offering to Gary's MMMM swap this year in the "knock your socks off" category!)

4. Sun Gold

5. Black cherry

Narrowing down all the other choices I have for the 11 spots I have for new varieties will be the hard part!

I actually ordered more seeds last night, it's true, it's like being a kid in a candy store!!!
KC, I cannot join the MMMM, no way no way! I need some control over my garden choices, lol!
MissS, I want to try Daniel Burson, if anyone has seeds, I'd love some and I do have seeds to trade, but nothing exotic. I love the black tomatoes, so if so many of you are raving that much, I have to try it!!!!
I was so sure my grow list was getting narrowed down
Oh well that's why this thread is so dangerous!!!

This year I'll be planting
- Sungold F1 (returning)
- a couple of the OP versions of Sungold out there (new, haven't decided exactly yet which ones to look for)
- Black Cherry from TGS (returning)
- Cherokee Purple (didn't germinate in 2015, will get new seeds and try again in 2016!)
and since I'm DETERMINED to find a Brandywine-esque tomato for my garden that is also productive:
- Cowlick's Brandywine (new)
- Sudduth's Brandywine (new)
- Pruden's Purple (tried in 2015, squirrels have gotten anything close to ripe so far)
- Marianna's Peace (new)
- Aunt Ginny's Purple (tried in 2015 but accidentally gave away all the seedlings)
- Stump of the World (new)
- Brandy Boy F1 (new)

I'll also be looking for any potato leaf versions of these to trial next to the regular leaf. I love potato leaf plants, they seem indestructible in my garden, plus I think they're prettier

That's it for definites. I'm still figuring out my earlies and cherries (I really want to try the Artisan tomatoes!), I also want to try some different colors, oxhearts and Italian ones for canning, and some dwarfs too.
I may steal all the Brandywine space for lots of Japanese Black Trifele plants in 2016. The sauce I made from them was that amazing.

Brandywine Suddiths
Cherokee green
Cherokee Purple
San Marzano Redorta (for sauce)
Roma (for sauce)
Sweet 100 cherry (by the back door sidewalk for snacking)

Departing due to poor performance

Cowlicks Brandywine

My season was too short due to a lot of rain and blight.

From my 2015 garden, I'm definitely planning on growing Abraham Lincoln again. I found it to be a very good producer of medium-sized(some larger) red tomatoes. The taste was very good IMO.

I keep seeing Big Beef coming up as a favorite over and over. It is often in the lists of favorites that include Brandywine, Pruden's Purple and Stump of the World. Does this hybrid taste like any of these?

The following varieties from my 2015 grow out will definitely be returning:

Sungold
Terhune
Indian Zebra
Rebel Yell
Barlow Jap
Not Purple Strawberry

I'm hoping to do a paste grow out in 2016, too.

kath, how did Indian Zebra compare the varieties we are all more familiar with like Indian Stripe and Cherokee Purple? M

Missed your pictorial and evaluations this year.

woa woa woa woa woaaaaaa

what a concept ...vertical graft to allow some of us that have many varieties to save space and be able to enjoy 2 varieties in one place/ container ....with a little extra work ???

wow which source of the techniques would you recommend .

Would you start with a disease resistant variety like big beef as root to graft the others onto ?
