Fritz, have you tried Egyptian Walking Onions? Mine grow in Pennsylvania clay and part shade, but you can't stop them from spreading. They don't set much seed, just make big top sets and bend over and root in the ground. I think they're great, and I always have green onion tops to use. They say the top sets are good fried, but I have always let them grow new plants.

My grow list for Mum, who has wilt issues:

Big Beef, for general tomato needs
Early Girl , ditto
Keepsake, for storage
Black Cherry, for snacking
Better Boy, new trial
Gardener's Delight, new trial

Grow list for DH & me:

Yellow Pear, his fave, & also for dehydrating (FABULOUS DRIED!)
Tommy Toe, for general use & food bank
Black Cherry, for snacking
Post Office Spoonful (currant), for snacking & distribution of seeds
Park's Whopper CR Improved, new trial ( I haven't found the perfect fried green tomato yet)
Brandymaster red, ditto

Grow list for Sis, who has tomato disease issues:

Crimson Carmello (septoria resistant)
Early Cascade OP (may or may not still have early blight resistance)
Gardener's Choice (early blight resistant)
Manalucie (early blight resistant)
Old Brooks (early blight resistant)
Tommy Toe (early blight resistant)

I see Ferry Morse has independence day hybrid pelletized but it's listed as a determinate type.
The burpee of the same name is indeterminate. 60 day

<getting out a shoehorn to squeeze in one more plant...>

I've also added Dotson's Lebanese Heart to my 2017 grow list. It's a new stable heart form of Omar's Lebanese, discovered by Spartanburg123.

Post Office Spoonful (currant), for snacking & distribution of seeds

Nan, I'm sure I posted about that one and it's a well known variety already which first appeared in the Park Seed catalog with the tiny currants shown in a spoon, hence the name spoon.

I don't have time to go back and find the thread where I discussed it,but maybe you could do that for me.
