All of a sudden early evening we had a pouring rain, lightning and wind. We were happy we were not on the boat.

Oh my gosh.... my husband and I are fishing fanatics. Thats why we live where we live in Florida... fishing... flounder, mangrove snappers, grouper, trout, reds, blue crab, stone crab, and the best tasting shrimp weve ever had, all within a half mile of our boat slip at various times of the year.
What were you fishing for? Ginny Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk |

In Florida we fish for grouper, snapper, and hogfish. There are other once that are really good. Once we were lucky and got 52 inch Wahoo. Sushi!!!
Here in NJ we catch Stripe bass, black Sea bass, Black fish/tautog, porgy, flounder, ling and some other once. Our dog loves blue fish.

So cool. Our dog is a 5 pound Pomeranian and she likes to peel out and bark when we throw fish back. I think she thinks she scared them off the boat... lol. She will eat any type of fish, shrimp or crab, raw or cooked.
Catching that Wahoo must have been awesome!! Some of the backwater fishing we do is in 12 to 18 inches of water when the reds and trout are feeding on bait fish in the shallows. Its all fun. We love it and the scenery is amazing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk |

Water in Florida is so clear, many times you can see fish chasing your bait. Here in NJ it is mostly murky. My DH does scuba sometimes and according to him the water at the bottom is clear at the 40-60 feet depth, just top layer is murky.

If I grow any cucumbers it will be Beit Alpha that Barb recommends. I probably wont grow them due to limited space at home and the fact that we love the store bought English cucmbers. For peppers... i love peppers as much or more than tomatoes and would love to grow a ton of them, but they dont do so well in fall for me. Going to try a few in grow bags like Barb recommended. But by spring I will grow more... shi-shi-to, padron, numex joe e parker, peperoni di senise, donkey ears. And a few others.

This summer, I've had a lot of 5 gallon RP (from Dwarf tomatoes) so have been using those for anything that was planted after tomato season. All Root Pouches have been top watered. I have more pepper plants than I've ever grown. I also have 2 Walmart Blue Bags; I put a container lid underneath for the water / wicking. The 'reservoir' is very shallow. I also put a small upside down colander in the blue bag so wicking is not over the entire bottom. I will take pictures later; The bottom stems are HUGE.... These pepper plants are so healthy; only the yellow sticky traps, no spraying. I also did a BIG upside down colander in the Root Pouch with the one Cucumber Plant too. Only watering and feeding that from the bottom. Prior seasons, I 'fed' from the top....I think this (Colander / water ONLY from the Bottom) has helped a ton with not getting root rot. Also, for the 2 Cuke plants in the EB, I'm adding water based on the tray of the Root Pouch. I let is go dry for several hours and only add water that is wicked up in a short time. We have not had rain in 4 weeks so it is easy to monitor the amount of water these plants are getting. Prior to that we had rain twice (a lot) in 2 months. With this AMs cuke picking, reached 204!!!! |
