Beetles on Eggplant
Some sort of beetles have really gone after my eggplants this year. It's the first time I've had this particular insect. They're a very pale color, light gray or whitish with black spots on the side, and very curved back. Anybody know what these things might be?

Holly,
This summer I had some type of beetle on mine as well. Two either dark brown or black smaller bugs huddled together eating away the leaves. Once I got rid of them, no more giant holes in my leaves. Hopefully you found everything as well...Mine did alot of damage... Jeff |

My typical problem insect on eggplant are flea beetles...you don't want to get them. But Omaha, it sounds like you had them...small and black fits the description perfectly. I recommend a Napalm airdrop to control them...

I have a big patch of flowering flat parsley underneath my eggplants that reseeds itself. I can't get over the hover flies and predatory wasps on that parsley! I've never had flea beetles on the eggplants don't know if they're common in AZ, although I suspect I've had them on my radish, turnip and mustard greens.
