Anyone ever grown garden peaches?

I was thinking of trying these this year with my students. They look good. Anything to get them to want to eat more fresh food. If you did try this, was it easy to grow? Did it taste good to you?

It's not a tasty fruit. Just a novelty. Can you try something that will taste good to the students like maybe ground cherries or cherry tomatoes?

that's what I was wondering, if it tasted good. I am growing some aunt molly's ground cherries. I might pass the vine peaches to someone else.

It depends on if they are actually the variety "Garden Peach".

Some people really love them. They can be sweet, but they are very tender and on the soft side. The slightly fuzzy skin is a novelty that some don't like but they aren't as fuzzy as a real peach.

While the Garden Peach variety is OK, especially if you like mild tasting tomatoes, personally I like the Red Garden Peach better. It's really a pink and has more flavor than the yellow variety. At least to me.

Actually you can't go wrong with the Aunt Molly's. Just let them fall off before eating as they are the sweetest then.
