Default The Two Most Common Types of BT (BTk and BTi) Used in Gardening

BTk (k as in katerpillar) Bacillus Thuringiensis var. kurstaki
Used on the following;
Cabbage worm and cabbage looper
Tomato and tobacco hornworm
European corn borer
Alfalfa caterpillar and alfalfa webworm
Leafroller
Achemon sphinx
Tent caterpillar
Fall webworm
Leafroller
Red-humped caterpillar
Spiny elm caterpillar
Western spruce budworm
Pine budworm
Pine butterfly
Gypsy moth

Some common brand names of products containing BTk below;
Bonide Bacillus Thuringiensis
Bonide Thuringiegsis (BT) Concentrate
Ferti-lome Dipel Dust
Hi Yield Thuricide Concentrate
Safer Brand Bt Worm & Caterpillar Killer
Safer Garden Dust w/Bt


BTi (i as in insect) Bacillus Thuringiensis var. israeliensis
Used on the following;
Fungus gnats
Black flies
Mosquitoes

Some common brand names of products containing BTi below;
Bonide Mosquito Beater WSP
Gardens Alive Knock Out Gnats Granules (fungus gnat larvae control)
Gnatrol (fungus gnat larvae control)
Summit Mosquito Bits
Summit Mosquito Dunks
