Default Australian seed stores / sources

Hello

I would be grateful if some Aussie members could tell me which online seed stores they have used (located in Oz) and what their experience with them was like?

I have decided to purchase a few popular and/or rare varieties to increase my kitty - both for growing myself and for swapping. I would like that the seed I trade with others be reliable.

The only place I have purchased seed from is Eden Seeds and found them to be great. Quick postage, reliable seed count and about 90% germination of seeds.

I know some of the others are:
Diggers
Green Harvest
Cornucopia seeds

Could you pass on your opinions of them?
Are there any other sellers you would recommend?

Thanks for your advice.

hi grey budgie...
i've used eden seeds, they're great. haven't used the others yet.
BUT...i was having a look around on ebay...and found some interesting stuff available cheaply there. the good thing with ebay is that everyone guards their reputation...so you're sure to have a good experience. if not...then you can really make a difference in the life of that seller.

http://www.diggers.com.au/

They are slow to ship, but reasonable selection, and seeds are good.

Eden Seeds are great, wish they had more obscure/exotic Tomato seeds.

Also www.greenpatchseeds.com.au have been good to deal with.

Thanks everyone!

Now comes the hard part - choosing which varieties!!!

Aussiemark welcome to Tomatoville! I'm a newbie also - prefer to read what everyone else is up to then post myself. I think the same as you Re: Eden seeds. Very basic reliable types. But every now and again you just want something different to try.

So glad to see some more Aussies in this forum! Welcome! Please check out the cross hemisphere dwarf project area, plus individual forums, and if interested next year to join the southern hemisphere team just sing out. I would really love some more Aussie volunteers

Hello Petrina

I have been reading a little about your work but it is such a huge project I can't keep up! I don't know how you do it. Give me a few more MONTHS to research it and I may have a better idea! I wish you tonnes of success.

Thanks for the links. I have just joined you in Australia (from NZ) and am in the process of re-starting my seed collection. Will check them out!
