Default Pack 'em In?

Anyone advise against sardining my eggplants and peppers in a patch of 8ft x 4ft with spacing of 1ft all round? Only danger I can think of is powdery m. and white flies. But I think I have the ammo to combat therm both.

Most peppers like to be real close, and I like to have them touching each other when mature.
Eggplants are just such bug magnets, I try to sprinkle them around and not put too many together in the the same spot.
If you put them with your peppers I bet you have pest free peppers as everything likes eggplant...
Actually, I filled my coldframe up with some extra eggplants and pepper seedlings and they are pretty scrunched....I think the peppers are producing better under those conditions and the eggplant are much smaller(and less productive) than the garden and container eggplants.
