Yellow ginger may not be very showy, but the perfume is heavenly:

Thanks Shelley & Flowerpower!
The lily only blooms once a year, so I get so excited to see it.
To the right of the Bird of Paradise are 4 juvenile papaya trees. I usually plant in groups of 3 or 4 to have a good chance of having at least 1 hermaphrodite, and that will be the only one I keep as that one will have male+female flowers and be productive; the rest will be chopped down. It takes about a year to flower.
Behind them, are, uh... weeds.

Funny little 4 oclock from seed that my sweet friend in Missouri sent me, but thinks it's still on Central time, since I have to wait till 8 pm to see the bloom:

I like to plant Cosmos among the tomatos (but the dill got in there by accident):

Killing me softly with his pics! They are taking my breath away Honu........I've been surrounded by ick since first hard frost Oct 15 and we still have a month or two of snow to look at (or ugly thaw).

Thank you!

Honu,
Nice photos! I would love to see your tropical flowers in person, so different than what I can grow here. I'm sure that Ginger smells fantastic, and I think it looks good too!

Default my flowers.

i am so envious. We would only ever be able to grow something like those in a greenhouse.
They're really beautiful.
You are so lucky to live in a climate where you can grow tropical plants.

Papaya,oh, cool. I thought the leaves had a really nice shape. The rest of the flowers are just so gorgeous. The colors are so bright.

4 O' Clocks could get by on around 6 hrs of sun. As soon as they get shade, they open. So maybe move them to a shadier location.
