Hungarian Heirlooms
Does anybody happen to know of hard to find or rare Hungarian Heirloom tomatoes?
I am trying to compose a list of the names of those tomatoes for a hunt. Any help would be appreciated. |

You'll just have to click on the various varieties in her list to see what the histories are. http://tatianastomatobase.com/wiki/C...arian_Tomatoes Carolyn, who could probably find more by going through someof her SSE YEarbooks, but no time for that.

These countries have been divided up many times. One being the Austro-Hungarian Empire. There are many others that were divided up as well. From my research my family came from an area called Swabia in Germany But the last name originated in Friesland. Keep this in mind while searching for rare seeds. Worth |

Try this...
www.tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=34502 You may be able to contact Geza with a PM. But, Geza last posted in January. So, you may want to try the email at the bottom of the list. |

I really appreciate all the information and the links. Going to take me a bit to look through it all. Hopefully the weather will somewhat back to normal next year and I would like, besides my regular tomatoes, to have a section of just all Hungarian tomatoes.
I plan on buying some, maybe finding somebody to trade with as I enjoy international trading, and if/when things go as planned I hope to be gifted some seeds from there, which brings me to Worth's post below. Quote:

After the red section is a section I do NOT understand titled Unsorted Colors. First time for that one and do not understand since there is another section called Other Colors, which has always been there. While I was with that 2015 SSE Yearbook I took the time to check the red and pink sections for Hungarian ones, and lots I'd never heard of before, most of them listed by SSE itself. Checked one more issue. Last week I found an SSE request sent to me in March of 2014 which had slipped between something else asking for three varieties and enclosing money, and I really was mortified to find that envelope, so I checked and he is still a listed member, so I'll send back the seeds he wanted plus some extras, similar to what he requested, and of course also the money he sent.
