walmart led lights
walmart has red/blue led grow lights for $12.97 two foot size.
They are in the hardware section not garden center. I was shopping for 6500k fluorescent bulbs and I spotted them. I had to go to 2 different stores just to get 3. 12watts power consumption so that should be a lot better than my 4 foot shop lights with the proper bulbs. I stripped old pc hardrives for the flat rare earth magnets, glue them on and you can stick the lights to the shelves quickly. Be careful, the magnets "bite" Your fingers may end up looking like the lights when turned on. |

Thank you for the info - yes, those magnets can bite, have pinched my fingers a few times. I use them for various things on my grow shelves.

That's a great deal, I must check the local store.
In the fluorescents, everything not 4 ft long has always been way more expensive. So it's nice to see the LED versions breaking that trend. A two foot or three foot light opens up a lot of possibilities. |

I used these last year and they worked great. My plants grew very well using these in my basement.

somebody said with the red/blue (I swear violet-ultraviolet) hurts my eyes when I look at them led lights you can put the plants directly into the sunlight with no weaning process.
Should be handy for people that work and can't babysit the plants. I bought a 39x39 inch raised bed with plastic cover to get the plants outdoors and into the sun.I leave the cover zipper down to keep the plants from cooking. |

update
walmart has the 4 foot red/blue led grow light bulbs actually cheaper than the lights mentioned earlier. The bulbs fit the t12/t8 fixtures and are $9.24 ea here. I will use a mix in my fixtures of 1 of those and a regular 5000K fluorescent. |
