Compost Question
I found a CompostTumbler on CraigsList for $50 earlier this year. It was a steal in my opinion.
I now have a nice batch of compost ready to go. I would like to apply it to my vegetable garden at the end of the season. Should I till it? Should I just put it on top? Is fall a bad time? Should I wait until spring? Your tips / techniques would be appreciated... Pat |

Yes...put it on top, leave it there and don't worry about it until spring. You can start another batch...to have for spring.
Or...if it is finished, work it around your plants now. Compost can be 'used' any time you have some and it is finished. |

No till is the new till, or something like that. If you have mycorrhizal bacteria they would be best undisturbed. I have quite a bit of finished compost by just layering it on top this year. I have a batch cooking now and will just apply it as it's done.
