Default Two Boxcar willies in an 18 gal. container?

I reckon 2 stupice will do ok in an 18 gallon but I'm not at all sure about boxcar willie. Now that I think of it would Amish Paste be ok?

Seems a little crowded for Box Car Willie. In a 18-gallon
self-watering container, maybe. They got to be big plants
for me, easily occupying as much space as a big refrigerator
by fall. That could be overworking a root ball that small.
Maybe if you prune each plant back to one main stem as
they grow, they would do ok.

(I have not grown Amish Paste.)
