I think we should resurrect it again for this year.
Probably similar to our earlier ones with more folks bringing samples. What looks like a good date? 7/18, 7/25, 8/1? I have a pretty good new location we can do which has a covered picnic area that I can reserve. It's also close to my house which would simplify the organization! Thoughts? Lee

All - don't use me as a date or event determinant. At this point, my main conflict is July 17-19 (will be in Iowa for the SSE campout). Otherwise I should be around (but then again, things pop up on my schedule pretty short notice).
I am growing few tomatoes this year - mainly all 36 released dwarfs, but not much else, so won't be a significant tomato resource either.

I'd be thrilled to come and provide tomatoes, but I'm not sure I'd still be getting a good harvest in August.

I have a strong feeling mine will be past their prime in Aug. Planted them early and they are doing well.
I'll still go of course! Greg |

The only role I could possibly play is as an attendee - and an uncertain one at that. So if this happens, every part of it - organizing, planning, date selecting, etc - will have to be by someone else. Just way, way, way too much going on in my life right now!

This is something I'm interested in...I'd love to participate in (or help plan) a small - medium sized gathering / event.
My local farmers market has no interest in a "harvest festival" type of evening / event and I found that to be very disappointing. |

Well folks..... I have to say sorry that we won't be having this event
this year. That makes 3 years now, and hopefully we'll be able to actually resurrect it again next year. All of my plants ripened the end of June through the first two weeks of July, so there wasn't too much available to sample this past weekend. Put 7/23/16 on your calendar for next year though! Lee

Hey Lee - needless to say I've not been around much to participate in one - and I would plant a different garden to support a Tomatopalooza event (far less research/mandatory seed save, far more flavor favorites!).
Then again, next year my garden may be more focused on compact plants, more bales and containers, whatever it will take to support what is forming up to be book #3! LOTS of interest in Tomatopalooza this year from input gained at my various activities. We will have to think carefully about how big/how open/how to publicize!

I put July 23 on my calendar. I'm a tomato newbie and would love to learn more.
