Help with Lemon ID..

All I can say is that the plant was bought in Fla on I-95. I remember it has an interesting or different name.

Lost the tag but I remember reading it had wonderful taste but a few more seeds than usual. Was a hybrid of some kind.

The pics I used to look at on the internet of the mature fruit looked exactly the same but larger. May have had a Lime bred into it??

Ponderosa lemon!

It's a citron-lemon hybrid put out by the major citrus grower there in Florida.

I looked up Ponderosa, I don't think it looks the same.

I think it had a different name to it. Hmmmm...

If that's not it, I don't think it is a lemon. Quite frankly, it looks like a tangelo based on the shape so it might be someone's novelty cross that isn't any sort of a recognized variety. Did you buy it from a nursery or someone by the side of the road?

If you bought it from a nursery, it probably is a tree from Four Winds. If you bought it from a stand, there's no telling.

The important part is to inspect it regularly for HLB. And, you'll want to take those flowers out of its pot.

It was a big road side stand on north 95. It wasn't a Tangelo either. They sold lots of oranges, fruit, and a ton of little trees.

Those two petunias grew from seed that was from a plant in the same pot last year. I'll pull them.

You might just have to go back & ask them. Its leaves look like lemon but the only lemon really shaped like that & has many seeds is a ponderosa. Just hope you don't have bad luck & find out it is a shaddock.

Which makes me wonder...this branch with the fruit...does it come off the trunk right at the bottom?
