Default stem rot on tomatoes

can anyone tell me what makes tomatoes rot at or near the stem. i have thrown out 40 or so tomatoes. this isn't blossem end rot. thank you for your help.

and check out the pictures. As you can see, more than one thing can cause rot on a tomato.

Could be botrytis.
