Is it too late for me to start Cossack Pineapple from seed?

Just wondering if hot temps affect viability of pollen for ground cherries, like it does for tomatoes and peppers.

If so, at what range would the pollen be affected?

Thanks for any advice you might have on the matter.

I've grown them for several years. Of course, I'm in Maine but have never noticed a problem with pollination as in peppers. They are so easy to grow that I think it's worth a try. ( I grow them in large pots) Then you can let us know how they do.

Got the seed for Cossack Pineapple (thanks Tim) -- sowed it, germed it, plants have already started to set fruit.

Also ordered/planted a couple of plants for Aunt Molly's from SSE. Been eating the fruits for the last ten days or so -- the best way I know of to describe it is that it is a delicious and fruity bag of tiny little seeds.

Everyone that I've shared them with wants more and also wants to know how they can grow it too.

Children just love it.
